Michal Lotzkar

Michal Lotzkar’s father, Arieh Engelberg, was caught up in the partitioning of Eastern Europe when the Nazis invaded his home country of Poland in 1939. After moving into Soviet territory, the family was exiled to Siberian labor camps during the war. Using primary sources, maps, and video testimony, Michal brings life to her family history as a Legacy Speaker for the Holocaust Center for Humanity’s Speakers Bureau. Michal is married with two children and lives in Kirkland. She is also a docent at the Holocaust Center, teaches nursing at Bellevue College, and is a nurse at URJ Camp Kalsman.
