Mike Rothbaum

Rabbi Michael Rothbaum serves as rabbi at Congregation Beth Elohim in Acton, MA, and lives with his husband, Yiddish singer Anthony Russell, in Concord. Rabbi Mike has received accolades for his achievements in religious school, B'nai Mitzvah, youth group, and camp settings. He has also done extensive work with faith-based social justice organizations, including Bend the Arc and JFREJ. Last summer he joined a rabbinic delegation to Ghana, sponsored by AJWS. Rabbi Mike has appeared in several media outlets, including WAMC Public Radio, CNN, and WABC-TV. A sermon of his was included in the anthology Peace, Justice, and Jews: Reclaiming Our Tradition. Rabbi Mike joined the Regional Council in late 2013 and has already made close to 20 public appearances for Bend the Arc in a variety of settings. He got arrested in April 2014 to protest deportations, and regularly has agitated and inspired the Bay Area Bend the Arc community with his passionate teaching and action.
